Next Tuesday, June 16 at 7:30 pm, Temple Emeth's Movies That Mattered will present the film "The Courageous Heart of Irena Sendler." The 2009 television film tells the story of Polish Catholic social worker Irena Sendler, who during World War II defies the N***s to smuggle about 2,500 Jewish children out of the Warsaw Ghetto. She places them with safe families and convents, maintaining a secret list of their identities to reunite them with their families after the war ends. The film stars Anna Paquin, Goran Visnjic, and Marcia Gay Harden.
