Congratulations to the high school class of 2024!

In the 2023-24 school year, we worked with more seniors than ever before. We assisted them in brainstorming essay topics, developing activity lists, and writing their final personal statements and supplemental essays.

We love this work. We strive to humanize students and empower them with self-awareness and confidence as they embark on different college and career paths.

Each senior we worked with last year will start college in the fall. We are happy for and proud of them. We can’t wait to see the impact they will have on their campus communities. Check out where they will be attending!

“A mentor is someone who allows you to see the hope inside yourself.” - Oprah Winfrey

Last week, we returned to Hackley School to facilitate our InnerView Workshop for the younger cohorts of Hudson Scholars (6th-9th graders). In the workshops, the scholars reflected on challenges they’ve faced in their lives. They dug into these challenges and pulled out learnings from those experiences. They projected forward how those lessons impact them.

High school mentors were present in each workshop. They aided the younger scholars in their journeys of self-reflection. The high school mentors encouraged the younger scholars to see the hope and growth inside of their daily experiences.

Who gives you hope, and why?

“Go forth and spread beauty and light.” - Hackley School motto

Yesterday, we facilitated a Personal Statement Workshop with the founding cohorts of Hackley School’s Hudson Scholars program. Scholars reflected on who they are (their beauty and light) and then practiced storytelling how they will go forth and share that in their personal statements. Hackley’s school motto aligns well to what these students will do in their college applications, their college experiences, and beyond.

How do you spread your beauty and light with our world?
