Covenant High School

While our juniors and seniors were in Europe this spring, our underclassmen participated in Covenant Outbound! Covenant Outbound is an opportunity for our teachers and students to have a hands on learning experience through field trips, service projects, and academic time. These photos were from their tour of the Tacoma Federal Court where they toured the historic courthouse, learned about the federal judicial system, and gained firsthand insight into how the courts operate. Afterwards, they were able to go to the beach and eat lunch! Experiences like these help bring classroom learning to life while encouraging students to become informed and engaged citizens.

Griffin Landon came to Covenant after attending The Cor Deo School for eight years. Throughout his time at Covenant High School, Griffin embraced the opportunities, friendships, and community that made his high school experience memorable. He quickly found a place where he could connect with classmates, teachers, and the broader Covenant community.
When reflecting on his favorite memories, Griffin finds it difficult to choose just one. From the Europe trip and the junior year production of Pride and Prejudice, to countless everyday moments with friends, his years at Covenant were filled with experiences he will always remember.
What Griffin appreciates most about CHS is the close knit community. “It’s not difficult to have friendly chats with anyone,” he shared. “You get to know people’s names, have friends across several classes, and the teachers are always willing to help.”
This fall, Griffin will attend Northwest University in Kirkland, where he plans to study Visual Design while pursuing a minor in Game Design. His passion for the field was strongly influenced by Miss Battle, whose classes helped him develop his creative skills and ultimately inspired his choice of major.
During his time at CHS, Griffin participated in Honor Society, Student Council, and Ambassadors, serving as head of publicity for Student Council during his senior year. He was also involved in the annual school play almost every year and has fond memories of playing Mr. Collins in Pride in Prejudice his junior year.
Looking back, Griffin credits Covenant with helping him build a strong intellectual foundation for his faith through classes, discipleship groups, conversations with peers, and meaningful readings that shaped his spiritual growth.
His advice to incoming students is simple. He says that though high school is challenging at times, “there’s always something good to find in every day and in the people you meet at CHS. Don’t skip out on opportunities, try everything.”
We congratulate Griffin on his graduation and look forward to seeing how God uses his creativity and talents!
