Golden Beads will be at Geiger's Grand Opening this Friday, September 21st, 6-8 p.m. Everyone is welcome to join this community celebration of the new building for Tacoma's second public Montessori school. Look for us - we'll have "Got Montessori?" shirts for sale as well as information and registration forms if you're interested in sponsoring Montessori ROCKS 2013.

Golden Beads is very pleased to announce that over the summer we were able to fund 100% of the grant requests we received from Bryant and Geiger teachers with the proceeds from Montessori ROCKS! We disbursed a little over $5,500 to nine teachers to provide replacement Montessori materials for three Children's House classrooms, financial assistance for Middle School Teacher Training at CMSTEP in Ohio, fiction/non-fiction chapter books for a lower elementary classroom, supplemental Montessori math materials for Lower Elementary, Montessori cultural curriculum reading material, and more! Thank you to everyone who supported Montessori ROCKS! Planning for Montessori ROCKS 2013 is underway - stay tuned for details on this upcoming February event!

Golden Beads welcomes all the students, parents, teachers, staff, and administrators at Bryant and Geiger back to school! We offer a special welcome to Mrs. Sandra Lindsay-Brown, the new principal at Bryant. We wish our collective public Montessori community a wonderful year of learning, growing, developing, and exploring!

Golden Beads would like to thank the YMCA for generously donating childcare for Montessori Rocks! Thirty children were cared for at Geiger Montessori by four wonderful YMCA caregivers while their parents were rocking the night away! Thanks, YMCA, you made it so much easier for many parents to attend the dance! We appreciate your support of public Montessori education!
