You know the saying, An Apple a day keeps the fascists away.

1. a companion who shares one’s activities or is a fellow member of an organization, union, or club

2. fellow soldier or member of the armed services, someone who has a shared struggle

In political contexts, comrade means a fellow party member. The political use was inspired by the French Revolution, after which it grew into a form of address between socialists and workers. Since the Russian Revolution, popular culture in the West has often associated it with communism. As such, it can also be used as a derogatory reference to leftists, akin to “commie”. In particular, the Russian word товарищ (tovarishch) may be used as derogatory reference to communists.

I prefer comrade as a term of love trust and continued forward momentum to our collective liberation to the term or usage of ally. I don’t want to be on the sidelines of your struggle cheering you on, I want to be in the trenches with you fighting side by side.
