I was proud to participate in this year’s Hunger Walk with Emergency Food Network, joining hundreds of community members to support food pantries across Pierce County (and great to see so many friends and familiar faces). The need is growing, with more than 3.7 million pantry visits in 2025, an 18 percent increase from the year before.
At the same time, reductions to SNAP and other federal programs are putting added pressure on families and on our local food system. Nearly 118,000 Pierce County residents rely on these benefits. In response, the County allocated $400,000 in emergency funding to support partners like Emergency Food Network, Eloise's Cooking Pot Food Bank, Nourish Pierce County, among others.
Expanding access to food has been a priority for me on the Council- it’s why I have volunteered at local food banks, supported food security efforts in Olympia, and worked to direct resources where they are most needed. I am proud of this work and committed to doing more to ensure every family in Pierce County has access to the food they need.

I was honored to attend the Puyallup Tribe’s Veterans Day Remembrance this afternoon- a truly meaningful occasion which also marked 10 years since the Puyallup Tribe Veterans Memorial was first constructed.
We heard powerful reflections from Chairman Bill Sterud, Councilmembers James Rideout and Monica Miller, and National Indian Gaming Association Chairman and former Councilmember, David Bean. Event organizer, veteran, and 5th Council District resident, Michael Sisson shared especially thoughtful remarks on the challenges many face when transitioning from military service to civilian life, and the importance of supporting those who have served.
My heartfelt thanks to all who have served and continue to serve our country in uniform- and deep gratitude to those who, after their service, continue to give back to their communities here at home.

Friends —
Tonight, my heart is full of gratitude. With ballots still being counted, we’ve come out with a strong lead — and that’s because of you.
This campaign has been grueling, humbling, and deeply inspiring. From Browns Point and Dash Point across East Tacoma, to Summit-Waller, down to Parkland and Spanaway — I’ve met hundreds of neighbors who shared their hopes, concerns, and courage for our community’s future.
To everyone who knocked doors, made calls, donated, put up signs, texted, or showed up when it mattered most — thank you. I saw you, I felt your energy, and I couldn’t have done this without you.
I’m so honored to have earned the trust of partners who share our vision — safer streets, affordable housing, youth violence prevention, and healthy, connected communities. Your belief in this work has been my fuel every single day.
We’ll wait as every vote is counted, but tonight I’m filled with gratitude — proud of the campaign we’ve built, and proud to be in this fight with all of you.
Let’s finish strong — together.
With deepest thanks,
— Bryan

I’m deeply honored to have built so many meaningful relationships with dedicated leaders at every level of government over my 11+ years in public service. From my time on the City Council to my current service on the Pierce County Council, these partnerships have been rooted in respect, shared purpose, and the belief that we can accomplish more when we work together.
No one achieves lasting progress alone — collaboration is how we deliver real results for our communities. I’m proud to bring those relationships and that spirit of teamwork to my work for you and your family every single day.
