in 1970, The News Tribune ran a feature article about Old Town Tacoma's Mt Tacoma Grocery. The story featured memories of the owners Mitch and Phil Bilanko.
Mt Tacoma Grocery was located at 2210 N 30th. It was the last of seven food stores that once shared a two-block area of Old Town with a dozen saloons. The store was a gathering place for Old Town's Croatian community and served the local fishing fleet from 1920 until the Bilanko family retired in 1978.
