Had the best weekend enjoying Utah country and getting my first deer. We also ended up being in the perfect spot to watch the solar eclipse. Such a great weekend!

A little update on Greg and how everything has gone the last couple days. Greg had to be at the Hosptial at 7:30 am on Wednesday. They started surgery at 10:30 and we did not hear from the surgeon until about 4:30. They said everything went perfectly and Gregs body responded great to the surgery. They were able to repair his aortic valve and replace the valve root and ascending aorta with a graft. We didn’t get to see him until 8:30 that night when visiting hours were almost over. He was still on the ventilator at that point.

We didn’t get to see him until this morning around 8:30. They were able to take the ventilator out around midnight. After giving him liquids he struggled to keep anything down till about 6 am. After the nausea subsided they were able to get him to walk down the ICU. After that they transferred him to the step-down unit. For the rest of the day he had severe back pain and couldn’t seem to get it to level out. Around 5 pm we were able to find some medications that helped with the pain and he was able to eat some food.

After a rough day, the night seemed to end on a better note. It’s definitely going to be a long road but he is staying strong and we will be home soon. Again, we are so grateful for the love, support and prayers we have felt ❤️
