Kid 'hero,' who dreams of being a firefighter, honored after alerting family to blaze SWANZEY — Aksel Jalava, 5, doesn't normally wake up early.

With October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, it’s the perfect time to purchase one of the Association’s cancer awareness t-shirts. Proceeds will be split between the Association and Joy’s Network, a nonprofit organization that supports cancer patients and their families in the Monadnock Region. Shirts are $20 a piece for youth large, and adult sizes of small through XL. At this time, we no longer have any medium size shirts, and are out of size large in navy. Sizes 2XL and 3XL are $25 a piece. If you’re interested, you can contact the Association via Messenger, or talk to any of our members.

After years of selling hamburgers and hot dogs to raise funds for our association, we're trying something new for Swanzey Old Home Day this year. We've partnered with Angie's Pizzeria in West Swanzey and will be selling cheese and pepperoni pizza at $2 a slice. We'll also be selling drinks for $1. Come down and see us starting at 10 a.m. this Saturday.
