As I was on my third week of restless sleep I had a thought I just couldn’t get out of my mind … Hold the line.
Holding the line doesn’t always look like a battlefield.
Sometimes it looks like a hard conversation.
A post you’re scared to share.
A truth spoken in a room that goes quiet.
But make no mistake—
holding the line with your voice
is a form of frontline work.
At every inflection point in American history,
ordinary people were told they were overreacting.
Divisive. Dramatic. Unpatriotic.
And history proved them right for speaking up.
Human rights.
Civil rights.
Women’s rights.
Voting rights.
Freedom of the press.
The right to protest.
The right to bodily autonomy.
The right to live without fear.
None of these were handed over politely.
They were protected by people willing to risk comfort, reputation, and belonging.
We are standing at another pivot point.
You can feel it.
Holding the line today doesn’t require a uniform.
It requires courage.
It requires outreach.
It requires choosing connection over convenience.
It requires being willing to be misunderstood.
If you feel unsettled,
good.
That means your conscience is awake.
Speak even if your voice shakes.
Post even if you’re afraid.
Have the conversation even if it’s awkward.
This is how democracies survive.
This is how rights are defended.
This is how history bends.
Be brave.
Be loud.
Be human.
Hold the line.
Winter wonderland!
