SUFFOLK POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTING INTO OCCUPIED RESIDENCE- SUSPECT IDENTIFIED

On December 31, 2022, at approximately 12:15 a.m., the Suffolk 911 Center received a call in reference to a residence being struck by gunfire in the 2100 block of Arizona Ave. Two vehicles in the area were also struck and damaged by gunfire.

The offender has been identified as Brandon Deyonte Smith, age 19, of Portsmouth. Mr. Smith has not yet been arrested, but has active warrants for:

Shooting from vehicle so as to endanger persons; Shooting at Occupied Dwelling; Willfully discharging fi****ms in public places; and Domestic Assault /EPO.

Mr. Smith should be considered armed and dangerous. A photograph is attached.

The investigation remains ongoing at this time, and there is no further information available for release.
