​Today, we honor Juneteenth, a powerful day of reflection, celebration, and a reminder of the enduring fight for freedom, justice, and equality.

​On June 19, 1865—two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation—enslaved Black Americans in Galveston, Texas, finally received the news of their freedom. Juneteenth celebrates that triumph while calling on all of us to continue the vital work of dismantling systemic inequities and building a more just Commonwealth for everyone. 🏛️🌟

​As we celebrate Black history, culture, and resilience today, let’s support our local Black-owned businesses, connect with our neighbors at community celebrations, and reaffirm our commitment to progress.
