Pelican Cafe and Beach

Hudson's on the River, formerly known as the Pelican Cafe, is scheduled to open March 7, serving lunch and dinner.
Hours will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday, he said. In April, the eatery will open an hour earlier on weekends for brunch, which will be served until 3 p.m. it’s going to be absolutely awesome on the river!

Hudson's on the River, formerly the Pelican Cafe, set to open in August in downtown Stuart The waterfront restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner in downtown Stuart and feature a raw bar with oysters, clams and sushi.

It was one year ago today we put the sign up that said the Pelican Café and Beach was “Temporarily” closed due to Covid. We didn’t realize then that we would never be opening up again as our place of business. At the end of April 2020, the Matakaetis family went forward with their plans to purchase the Pelican Café. The restaurant has been closed ever since for major remodeling and a complete concept change. We stopped by yesterday to take a look and the construction is clearly underway. We believe the doors will be open for this great new Downtown Stuart restaurant sometime in late May. Paul and Linda are now fully retired, enjoying life and getting ready to move into their new GL Valencia Grove home later this fall. We miss seeing all of our Pelican friends and hope to see you at this new restaurant over the summer months.

We always loved the Old Hippies and they were regulars playing every other Friday night for years! Tomorrow, Friday, March 5th, they will be playing an afternoon concert at the Summer Crush Winery in Ft. Pierce, from 2 to 5 PM. There will be a Taco food truck in case your get hungry. Please be sure to read what is allowed and not allowed to bring to the event. Paul and Linda will be there and we hope to see some of you too!

Good morning and a happy very strange Friday! I’ve loved getting up early every day to do these weather reports from all around the country and the world (yes, from Italy, Denmark, France, Ireland, Texas and California) that I always felt were so important to our business. Someone even messaged me once that the weather reports had been late for a few days and could I get them out earlier. I had to explain that I was on vacation in Texas and the time zone difference threw me just a little bit. I loved the comment and the fact that we were doing something that mattered to at least one person. Starting tomorrow I too will be taking a break and pausing on the weather reports. This is such an emotional time, that I think I, we, need to get past it somehow, but I’m not sure how to do that. Our lives are changing so much and so fast that I, we, pray to finding a fast solution to this crazy virus. Be safe, wash and rewash your hands and keep that “social distance”.
Today we’ll see temps in the mid to upper 80s under a mix of sun and clouds with ESE breezes between 10 to 20 mph., Rain chances remain very low through most of next week.
