To clarify what occurred during yesterday’s tragic incident, the investigation has determined that an 83-year-old driver and owner of the vehicle was driving his truck into a service bay at the business. As the driver drove onto a ramp to have the vehicle serviced, he accelerated forward, striking a technician and pinning him against a concrete wall.
Tragically, Bryan Thomas Giarrantano, 24,
sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Stuart Police Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. Additionally, OSHA is conducting its own investigation, as the incident occurred in a workplace setting.
The business owners and staff fully cooperated with our investigation while also coping with the tragic loss of a valued employee. We appreciate their assistance during this difficult time.
Our sincere condolences remain with the victim’s family, friends, coworkers, and all those affected by this tragedy.

Summer break is here, and for many children, that means more time spent gaming, using social media, and interacting online.
As online activity increases, so do the risks of cyberbullying, scams, online predators, and the sharing of personal information.
June is Internet Safety Month, making it a great time for families to discuss safe online habits. NetSmartz offers free videos, activities, and resources to help parents and caregivers start those conversations and keep children safer online.
Because "stranger danger" didn't disappear, it just got Wi-Fi.
