In this inspiring hands-on workshop, Claudia Lee shares her direct and approachable methods for creating beautifully constructed handmade boxes using both commercial and handmade papers.

Students will learn how to design reusable patterns and construct durable box forms tailored to their own creative vision — without relying on pre-made templates or someone else’s directions. Claudia’s techniques focus on strong structure, simplicity of process, and artistic freedom.

The box becomes more than a container — it transforms into a sculptural surface for collage, stitching, layering, and incorporating found objects. Participants will explore paper stitching techniques, dimensional composition, and ways to combine paper and fiber into functional works of art.
