Next, be sure to download your solar monitoring app so you can track your system and its production.

Now, should you clean your panels? While it is not a must since rain often clears panels of dust and debris, the more stubborn smudges and stains could use a bit of elbow grease.

Rinsing panels with a hose or even gently scrubbing with a soapy sponge is usually all that's needed to remove any residue that the rain can't clear.

Your panels are designed with longevity in mind. They are durable and should last up to 25-30 years, depending on your weather conditions and maintenance.

Inspecting and cleaning your panels every six months or so can be beneficial for production.
