Compassion Evolution

When will it stop? It won't - unless we create something different.

I have been intentionally focusing on "good news" lately to outweigh my dismay with the state of the world, however some things must be addressed.

I am, like many of you, sickened by the recent Buffalo and Uvalde shootings. Systemic racism is still allowing the senseless deaths of black and brown people (even though we stopped talking about it). Kids are murdering kids. They are telling us they are not okay. WE are not okay. May is Mental Health Awareness Month and our country is in a mental health crisis.

It is not enough to just be sickened. If we value each other, our children, or our future, we must turn our heartbreak and outrage into productive action to create a positive change. Start at home; take care of yourself and each other. Use whatever privilege you have to work toward shift resources to those who need them. Advocate for racial equity and justice, for action against gun violence, for SEL programs in all schools, for accessible mental health resources for everyone...
