It’s about that time!! Exceed Three, Inc. is officially turning two and we are hosting our annual fundraiser! In this last year, we’ve prepared more students for their journey to and through physical therapy. Now it’s time to GROW! In the coming months, we will be adding tutoring and mentoring services for students who have matriculated, and educate our communities on the benefits of physical therapy. Exceed Three, Inc. is a nonprofit focused on developing and servicing Georgia pre-baccalaureate and baccalaureate African American students in their preparation for applying to physical therapy school.

Per the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE), the percentage of African American student admitted to physical therapy programs nationwide has averaged around 3% from 2012 to 2020. With the surge in DEI interest, many institutions, include APTA, have expressed interest in increasing the number of applicants to PT programs; however, this only begins to address the disparities present.

Our vision at Exceed Three, Inc. is to begin growing diversity in the profession of physical therapy by increasing the number of African Americans enrolled and graduating from physical therapy programs, and ultimately, improving community health and wellness for African Americans across the state of Georgia.

At Exceed Three, Inc. we offer students the opportunity to improve interview and writing skills, join a sense of community with access to mentorship, take part in a foundational anatomy and kinesiology course, and funds for applications and matriculation fees. Any donations provided, big or small, will assist African American students with fees, supplies and course materials.
