Intern perspective: Why I returned to Sentry® College students can gain valuable experience through career development opportunities at Sentry, including internships and part-time co-op roles.

As Reid states, he does real-world work we apply to help our customers and employees at Sentry®. We believe our youth apprenticeship students have the skills and deserve to gain experience to help them grow professionally and personally.

YOUTH APPRENTICE OF THE WEEK:
Reid Neuman is a web app developer apprentice at Sentry. He collaborates with a team of developers to design and create working and efficient systems for clients. Reid must communicate and apply creative problem-solving skills to solve issues and design code. He has to utilize multiple coding languages and interfaces, including Java, C #, SQL, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and TypeScript. "My favorite part of the job is being able to work on actual projects for customers and other employees."
Reid would recommend a youth apprenticeship, "it gives you early-career knowledge while in high school, which can strengthen college applications. The school is very supportive of balancing needs, with easy schedule changes and other accommodations, which you should use to the fullest in order to function well in school and at work."
Reid's CTE coursework includes AP Computer Science, Independent Study Python, and CIS 120 (UWSP Early College Credit).
Reid will be attending UW Madison this fall for biomedical engineering. The future is bright for this SPASH Youth Apprentice!

Summer brings the best of our campuses. From thoughtfully designed indoor workspaces to outdoor areas that invite a break or conversation, our office locations provide a great environment to connect with others and foster collaboration.

We appreciate our interns and the energy and skills they bring to our company. That’s why we welcome them back for a second internship if they choose. Jake, one of our second-year interns, said the prioritization of our internship program is one of the main reasons he’s back.
