The Company X Cleanouts

I am looking for someone that gardens or maybe a farmer or exterminator that can help me out with a problem. I have a client that is having a pest problem in her yard. There is a critter that is digging this hole and making a mess on the back porch. I suggested that she fill the hole with steal wool. She tried this and the little thing pushed it out of the way and even chewed it a little. My client tried filling the hole with water but that also failed. She recently put out a live trap and caught a rabbit and a squirl but nothing that is small enough to fit in this tiny hole. Is there anyone out there that can give us some suggestion on how to proceed forward and maybe give an opinion as to what this critter might be?
