***Arc Raiders Cold Snap Update and Patch notes explained.***
The Cold Snap update, dropped on December 16, 2025, transforms Arc Raiders’ world into a frozen, high-stakes battlefield with a brand-new Snowfall map condition that blankets top-side regions like Dam Battlegrounds, Spaceport, Buried City, and Blue Gate in heavy snow. This weather isn’t just cosmetic — it reduces visibility, alters traversal (including frozen lakes), and introduces a frostbite mechanic that slowly drains health when players remain exposed too long, forcing Raiders to rethink positioning, gear, and tactical play to survive the elements. Accompanying this are seasonal events like Flickering Flames, which rewards progression over 25 levels based on earned Merits, and the Candleberry Banquet project that encourages scavenging unique resources for cosmetic and currency rewards through winter-themed stages. A free new Goalie Raider Deck with items and a hockey-inspired outfit was also announced as part of the broader seasonal rollout.
Beyond the winter environment, the patch brought quality-of-life and balance changes meant to improve long-term play. Most notably, Cold Snap adds a skill tree reset feature that lets players refund individual skill points without undertaking a costly Expedition, alongside new options like toggling aim-down-sights and Raider tool customization, spawn adjustments on maps such as Stella Montis, and weapon balance tweaks (e.g., durability burn and reload adjustments). The update also includes new quests across affected areas, making Snowfall maps feel fresh and rewarding to explore. While many players welcomed these changes, some voiced frustration over progression systems still needing polish, especially around expedition incentives.

🎯 Arc Raiders: Lone Wolf or Triple Threat? 🎯
SOLO = Meta
Arc Raiders hits different depending on how you drop in—rolling solo or running with a three-man squad both carve out totally unique experiences. Solo play turns you into a ghost: faster rotations, stealthier looting, cleaner extract routes, and way fewer mistakes caused by teammates doing… well, teammate things. You control the pace, the fights, and the chaos. No waiting around, no noise discipline issues, no arguments about who grabs what. The downside? Every mistake is yours, every misstep hurts, and you’ve got no backup when the Matriarch comes stomping. But for a lot of players, that raw, high-efficiency “one-man infiltration unit” vibe makes solo the most consistently rewarding way to play.
A three-man squad brings its own flavor of fun: shared loot paths, focus-fire melting enemy drones, and the power of coordinated pushes that simply don’t exist alone. You’ve got revives, extra eyes scanning the ridgelines, and the social fun that comes with squad hype. But squads also attract more attention, burn more resources, and become walking noise beacons. Team wipes happen fast, and one unprepared player can snowball the whole run. When you stack it all up, Arc Raiders absolutely supports both styles—but if you want maximum efficiency, stealth, and consistent extracts, rolling solo might just be the sleeper meta.
