Agencies are responding to flooded roadways throughout the Centre Region as a result of the heavy rainfall over the past few hours.

Never drive through flooded roadways. Hidden hazards can exist beneath the water, and no destination is worth the risk. Take the time to find an alternate route.

In addition to flooded roadways, storms may bring down tree branches and power lines. Never approach or drive over downed wires. Always assume they are energized.

Fire police are responding throughout the region to assist with traffic control. Please slow down, follow their directions, and obey all traffic control devices, including cones, barricades, and road closure signs. They are in place to protect both the public and emergency responders.

If you encounter an emergency, call 911 immediately. If you discover a flooded roadway, downed power lines, or another hazardous condition that poses an immediate threat to public safety, report it by calling 911. Otherwise, avoid the area and allow emergency responders to work safely.

🌡️ With temperatures expected to be higher than usual, remember to stay hydrated as you move from activity to activity. Drink plenty of water, take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning, and check in on family and friends who may be more susceptible to the heat.
