It may look like I planted a marigold jungle 😆🌼, but there’s a method to the madness!

A sweet gardening grandmother 👵 I met at Home Depot two years ago shared a tip I’ll never forget:

“Marigolds discourage deer 🦌 and rabbits 🐇 from snacking on your garden. They hate the smell”

Today’s finishing touch? A cozy layer of hay to lock in moisture, suppress weeds, and keep this raised bed happy. 🌱

Check back in a few weeks for the growth transformation!

Even in late October, the garden’s still giving 🌿✨
My tomato plants were still had new buds — but with colder days ahead, I decided to pick these beauties to ripen indoors.

That’s the greatness of healthy soil and steady care… the life in it just keeps going. 💚

Every harvest, big or small, is a little reminder that compost doesn’t just feed plants — it keeps the whole cycle alive. ♻️🪱
