Good Morning from Boiled Peanut!
She has gained a healthy 4 pounds and will have her surgery today. We’ll keep everyone updated on this sweet baby, we know you love her as much as we do!

We have so many adorable and adoptable doggies right now!
This is Nelly Furtado, Lindsay Lohan, McFlurrie, Lady Jif, and Howdy Doody, all enjoying the summer so far! Fill out an application and let our adoption team work their magic! Let us know if you're interested in meeting a long-timer, if you're passionate about the shy ones who are looked over, or if you want a running buddy or snuggle machine...we have someone for everyone!

Skip the trip to Home Depot. Sorry Bass Pro Shop. Nope, not Dick's Sporting Goods, either. Grills, tools, golf clubs? Nah. Dads don't want that.

What dads ACTUALLY want on Father's Day is...a dog!

This is Fawn, Tia Tequila, and Janie, all of which would LOVE to get a dad today! We are open, come and see us!
Does your dad live alone? Nothing will be better for him than a little furry son or daughter to help him with yard work and watch World Cup games with! We know, we know. Some dads can be reluctant. But it's all an act, because deep down they really DO want a little baby, they just don't know it, yet! They could also try out a Rovernight, which is a program we offer for those considering adoption but aren't quite sure (cough, cough....DAD!)
And you know once he spends a few days with a little sugar muffin who loves him more than anyone in the world, he'll melt into butter and sign the adoption papers. We've thought this through so you don't have to! Come see us!

We can't wait for someone to come in and ask this question.
"Hi Stray Rescue, who is the oldest dog in your shelter? I'd like to take him home and give him a chance..."

The answer is good boy Bannister! This sweet old man is 11.5 years old. He loves everyone. In fact, every time we have a new volunteer, he is our go-to, because he's so nice and easy to walk. He enjoys sniffing everything and taking his time.

He's waiting so long for a forever home (two years!!) because he has separation anxiety. But this old man deserves to spend his golden years on a couch with you! We will work with you and provide any supplies you need to make the transition as seamless as possible. We'll provide a crate, x-pen, whatever you need. All we ask is you give him a good, real chance to settle in. Once he knows he's safe and not being moved again, he'll settle. He's so nice, we'd love to find a beautiful place for him to spend his remaining senior years. Although he has liked some dogs, he would do best as the only pet in your home.
Please let us know if you're interested and open to meeting Bannister! ❤
He's also a great candidate for our Seniors for Seniors Program. If you are over the age of 65 and adopt a senior, we will cover routine, in-house medical care for the life of the animal. If you have questions, you are welcome to email [email protected] (serious inquiries only please).

Please share and help us get Bannister home!
