In an industry focused on speed, efficiency, and innovation, it's easy to forget what truly drives long-term success: people.
Technology evolves. Building methods change. Markets shift. But trust, relationships, and standing behind your work never go out of style.
That perspective is at the heart of how Shawn Intagliata and the team at Cobalt Creed approach modular construction. HVAC is more than equipment and specifications—it's about creating solutions that support builders, factory operators, developers, and homeowners alike.
As modular construction continues to transform the built environment, the companies that lead will be the ones that combine innovation with service, quality, and a commitment to the people they serve.
"Our story has never been about HVAC alone. It's about serving people, standing behind our work, and delivering quality solutions that help move modular construction forward."
— Shawn Intagliata, CEO, Cobalt Creed
What do you believe is the most important factor in building lasting partnerships in construction?
Every successful HVAC installation starts with having the right tools on site.
From cutting and fastening to measuring and system assembly, each tool plays a critical role in ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and quality workmanship throughout the installation process.
Take a look inside the Cobalt Creed tool bag and discover the essential equipment our teams rely on for modular HVAC installations every day.

Indoor air quality plays a critical role in creating healthier, more comfortable living environments.
The Unico Small Duct High Velocity (SDHV) System is engineered to do more than heat and cool. Its high-velocity airflow continuously circulates and filters indoor air, helping improve air quality, manage humidity, and support consistent comfort throughout the home.
Designed for modern high-performance homes, the Unico System delivers cleaner air, enhanced comfort, and advanced filtration performance without sacrificing efficiency.
Cleaner air. Healthier homes. Smarter HVAC.

Beautiful home design shouldn't come at the expense of comfort.
Our Small Duct High Velocity (SDHV) System provided an efficient heating and cooling solution while preserving valuable interior space and maintaining the home's distinctive rustic character.
With compact ductwork designed to fit within tight spaces, homeowners can enjoy reliable comfort, greater design flexibility, and a more efficient use of living areas—all without compromising aesthetics.
Small Duct. Big Design Freedom.
Small installation details make a big difference in the field.
Proper seam placement helps streamline takeoff installation, reduce drilling challenges, and improve overall HVAC installation efficiency. It's a simple step that can save time and frustration later in the process.

Not every HVAC solution is one-size-fits-all.
The angled outlets are designed to direct conditioned air where it's needed most, making them an ideal solution for vaulted ceilings, unique room layouts, and challenging installation environments.
Available in 15° and 25° configurations, these specialty outlets help improve airflow direction while maintaining the clean, discreet appearance that makes the Cobalt Creed unique.
Small Components. Smarter Air Distribution. Better Design Flexibility.
How does a flat duct installation work in a modular build?
The process is efficient and space-saving:
1. Air handler out.
2. Flat duct lays on the first-floor ceiling, running the full length of the module.
3. Takeoffs branch off to every room.
4. An end cap closes the run.
The Specs:
At 3.25" x 14", these off-the-shelf components are designed to fit perfectly within the 4-inch interstitial space between stacked modules.
Why it matters:
No other system fits here. This makes it the essential solution for modular HVAC integration.

Modular construction moves fast. HVAC systems should too.
Traditional ductwork often creates problems modular builders know too well — oversized runs, difficult routing, longer installation timelines, and coordination issues once modules arrive on site.
Small Duct High Velocity systems solve those problems differently.
A flat plenum designed to fit between stacked modules.
2-inch supply tubing that works inside tight cavities traditional duct cannot reach.
90–95% factory-installed before the module ships.
Final on-site connections completed in hours instead of days.
One scalable HVAC approach across single-family, multifamily, workforce housing, and modular developments.
This is why more modular builders are moving toward SDHV systems built around the realities of off-site construction.
Smaller duct. Same comfort. Built for the way modular actually builds.

Smaller ductwork is not just about saving space. It is about delivering more of the conditioned air where it is actually needed. Traditional metal duct systems can lose up to 25% of conditioned air through leakage before it even reaches the occupied space. Small Duct High Velocity systems lose less than 5%.
Less leakage means better airflow delivery, more consistent comfort, improved efficiency, and less wasted energy throughout the system.
Smaller duct. Less loss. Better delivered comfort. That is the difference efficient HVAC design makes in modular, multifamily, workforce housing, and high-performance builds.
