Archiving the Riverfront Times - WashU Libraries 05/22/2026

WashU Libraries is helping preserve St. Louis media history by archiving print issues of the Riverfront Times (1977–2013) in Special Collections. Following the paper’s closure, Miranda Rectenwald, curator of local history, worked to save and preserve decades of local reporting, arts, and community coverage, keeping this important record of St. Louis history accessible for future research.

Everyone is invited to join us tomorrow at 3 pm at Olin Library to celebrate the opening of Moral Tails, an exhibition curated by Special Collections student assistant Hope Hewett.

In addition to the opening, Hope has also curated a special showcase of her favorite items from Special Collections, on display in the classroom.
