The embark dna results are in and it’s time for Dovie’s DNA announcement! Of course, we don’t want to spoil the reveal before you’ve been able to make your guess! So let’s hear it, what breed(s) do you think this special girl is made of?

We'd like you to officially meet Legend.

Legend recently joined Even Chance Pit Bull Rescue after landing in the shelter from what is believed to be a dog fighting situation. Last night was his first night in his temporary Even Chance foster home, and we're happy to report that he got a good night's sleep.

Right now, he's decompressing while we give him the time and space he needs to settle in. From there, he'll move to boarding so we can continue learning more about him, his personality, and what he'll need to be successful moving forward. We can already tell he's a special guy.

Taking in a dog like Legend comes with significant expenses. We need help covering his care, including:

• $500 for an XL Ruffland Kennel
• Boarding (discounted for us, but still $24 per night)
• Veterinary care, including neuter surgery
• Food
• Heartworm prevention and other routine care

We don't yet know how long Legend will need to stay in boarding. At $24 a day, that's more than $700 a month, even at our discounted rate. Dogs from situations like his often need extra time while we assess their needs, work on training, and find the right adoptive home. Sometimes they are with us for over a year before they find their families.
