A recent independent study conducted by NORC at the University of Chicago found that individuals who participated in Concordance were approximately 50% less likely to return to prison within six months of release than those who did not participate in the program.

A remarkable statistic. But why does this matter?

Because behind every statistic is a real person working to rebuild their life, with a care team dedicated to their success.

Lower rates of recidivism mean:
💼 More people finding and maintaining employment.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 More families reconnected and rebuilding.
🤝More individuals achieving long-term stability in their communities.

Last week, our St. Louis Center hosted our second ever Reverse Job Fair, giving participants the opportunity to showcase their skills, experience, and career goals directly to employer partners.

Unlike a traditional job fair, participants had their own tables with their resumes, certifications, and personal information displayed, while employer partners moved throughout the room. This format created opportunities for meaningful one-on-one conversations, allowing employers to learn more about each participant’s background, strengths, and career goals.

Many of the participants who took part in the Reverse Job Fair are currently in the Career Readiness Training phase of our re-entry model, giving them the opportunity to put their preparation into practice and demonstrate the skills they have been developing with their career coaches.

A big thank you to all of our employment partners who joined us for the event, and congratulations to the participants who successfully secured interviews or employment!
