To truly listen is more than waiting for your turn to speak. It is choosing curiosity over assumption, understanding over winning, and presence over distraction.

Faith invites us to be “quick to listen.” Reason recognizes that listening is one of the most effective ways to learn, resolve conflict, and build trust. Both remind us that every person carries a story we cannot see from the outside.

Listening doesn’t require that we agree with everyone. It requires that we recognize their humanity.

In a world where everyone wants to be heard, becoming someone who genuinely listens is a quiet act of generosity.
