🔥 Imaging USA 2025—What a Ride! 🔥

Just wrapped up an incredible time at Imaging USA 2025, the largest photography conference in the world, held at the Ga***rd Texan in Dallas! This year, I had the honor of presenting a 3-hour Preconvention workshop on food & beverage photography, and it was amazing to see so many photographers—some of whom had attended my workshops in Maryland, Michigan, Wisconsin, and beyond—show up and show out!

Kicking off my workshop was an unsolicited, comedic, but heartwarming introduction from Shawn Lee of Shawn Lee Studios, a newly elected board member for Professional Photographers of America (PPA). Big congrats to Shawn and a major salute to PPA for their continued commitment to diversifying the photography industry! During the conference, they unveiled their rebrand of diversity initiatives with a new committee, United Behind the Lens, which will push forward the mission of making our industry more inclusive and reflective of those we serve. 💪🏾 📸

One of the highlights of my experience was a consultation with Executive Chef Brian Salters of the Ga***rd Texan. This wasn’t just any chat—this was an immersive, behind-the-scenes tour of the massive food operation that keeps the resort running. I got to sift through sections upon sections of props, plateware, and glassware to find the perfect pieces to complement the food selected for my workshop. Because in my workshops, it’s all hands-on. Participants don’t just listen; they apply what they learn in real-time, and I guide them through the process of capturing food and beverages in a way that’s better than just “well done.”

Every time I get a text or call from the Harris Camp, I ask if I could be the white house photographer.
