Pride St. Louis was honored to help kick off Pride Month at three meaningful events celebrating and recognizing our LGBTQIA+ community.

Thank you to Mayor Cara Spencer for hosting a Pride Flag Raising Ceremony at City Hall, to County Executive Sam Page and Prosecuting Attorney Melissa Price Smith hosting a Pride flag installation ceremony at the St. Louis County Government Center, and to Lisa Clancy, St. Louis County District 5 Councilwoman and the members of the St. Louis County Council for presenting Pride St. Louis with a resolution recognizing Pride Month.

These ceremonies are more than symbolic. They send a powerful message that LGBTQIA+ people belong, are valued, and deserve to be seen. Visibility matters, especially at a time when many members of our community continue to face discrimination and marginalization. Public recognition from our local governments helps foster inclusion, encourages belonging, and reminds LGBTQIA+ people that they are not alone.

We are grateful for the elected officials and public servants who continue to stand with our community and demonstrate their commitment to equality through both words and actions.

As we celebrate Pride Month, we look forward to continuing our work to educate, advocate, and celebrate alongside our community and allies throughout the St. Louis region.
