What happened to The Kenny DeShields Experience?

At the top of 2024, the Lord asked me to lay down performing my own music for a season. While it was one of the hardest things to do, obeying the Lord is much more important to me.

The Kenny DeShields Experience became a “thing,” an idol, and it had to come down.

Fast forward, this summer, I felt an invitation from the Lord to pick my music back up again. But this time, I’m doing it His way.

I love the Lord with all my heart and want to honor Him with my whole life. That includes singing, playing and writing the songs (and books) He wants, not just what my creative brain can come up with.

I dared to pray a prayer our dear sister, Pastor Jasmine Weiler, prayed. She said “God, give me the songs nobody else wants.” Give me the songs that are on your heart. And that process has begun… Stay tuned!
