You should NEVER throw Lemon Peels in the Trash! 🍋 Here is how to use them.
Natural Household Cleaner
Fill a jar with lemon peels and cover them with white vinegar.
Let the mixture sit for 2–3 weeks, then strain and dilute with equal parts water.
Use this lemon-vinegar solution as a natural cleaner for countertops, windows, and bathrooms.
DIY Lemon Zest
Grate the outer yellow layer of the peel using a fine grater or zester.
Store the zest in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freezer.
Lemon-Infused Water or Tea
Add fresh or dried lemon peels to a pitcher of water for a refreshing citrus flavor.
Use peels in hot water to create a soothing lemon tea.
Natural Air Freshener
Boil lemon peels with water and a few cloves or cinnamon sticks for a natural air freshener.
Place dried lemon peels in sachets and tuck them into closets or drawers.
Compost Booster
Chop lemon peels into small pieces to help them break down faster in your compost.
DIY Beauty Treatments
Brighten Skin: Rub the inner side of a fresh lemon peel on dark spots or blemishes for a natural skin brightener.
Exfoliate: Mix dried, powdered lemon peel with sugar and coconut oil for a homemade scrub.
Strengthen Nails: Rub a lemon peel on your nails to whiten and strengthen them.
Lemon Peel Candies
Boil lemon peels in water for 5–10 minutes to soften them.
Simmer in sugar syrup (equal parts sugar and water) until translucent.
Dry and coat in sugar for a tasty, zesty snack.
DIY Pest Repellent
Scatter dried lemon peels around entry points to keep pests away.
Place lemon peels in the garden to repel unwanted bugs.
Fertilizer for Plants
Dry lemon peels and grind them into a powder. Mix with soil to create a natural fertilizer.
Place small pieces of lemon peel in the soil around your plants to deter pests and enrich the soil.

Dry lemon peels thoroughly and grind them into a fine powder using a food processor.
Store in an airtight container for later use.
Polish Metal Surfaces
Sprinkle salt or baking soda on the metal surface.
Rub the area with a lemon peel and rinse with water.
Teeth Whitening
Rub the inner side of a lemon peel on your teeth for a few seconds.
