Jeremy Booth // Tough Luck // through 07.10.26
Discover the new exhibition on view at Square One Gallery
In “Tough Luck”, Booth presents a new body of work that further refines his exploration of the Western image. Isolated figures, expansive negative space, and cinematic lighting reduce each composition to its most essential elements, allowing gesture, posture, and shadow to carry heightened visual weight. The result is a focused and contemporary interpretation of the American West shaped through precision, atmosphere, and reduction.

Cameron Ritcher is a multimedia artist based in Richmond, Virginia, known for his grid-based compositions that combine geometric forms with tactile surface treatments. Working primarily in acrylic and mixed media on wood panel, his practice centers on repetition, variation, and the organization of visual elements into structured systems. Individual components are often arranged as modular units, allowing each work to function as both a cohesive whole and a collection of distinct parts.
Ritcher’s work reflects an ongoing interest in how people process and organize information, drawing from visual language, natural patterns, and built environments. Through a balance of consistency and change, his compositions explore how structure can create space for experimentation. His use of materials, including textured surfaces created with sand and layered paint, adds a physical dimension that reinforces the clarity of each form while introducing subtle variation across the surface.

KX2 is a collaboration between Ruth Avra and Dana Kleinman, sisters and artists whose practice revolves around the fusion of metalwork and painting. Their artwork delves specifically into the domain of data research, with a particular emphasis on climate and water infrastructure, while also honoring the inherent beauty and vitality of the natural world.
Employing a blend of repurposed and sometimes salvaged industrial materials with more traditional artistic mediums such as paint on canvas, KX2’s work yields a distinctive visual encounter. At an initial glance, these artworks captivate the observer with their bold forms, color, and textures—often evoking the movement, depth, and luminosity of water and organic systems. Yet, upon closer inspection, viewers can unravel a visual narrative addressing themes such as environmental concerns, infrastructure, overdevelopment, and humanity’s complex relationship with nature.

Catie Cook // For Sport // through 07.10 🏹
Discover the new exhibition on view at Square One Gallery
Drawing from the art historical tradition of the hunt, Cook leads the viewer through glimpses of her staged universe, depicting an anonymous female figure reminiscent of a debutante or bride. As her dogs snarl, pose, and leap across staged scenes reminiscent of the theatre, Cook weaves uncanny narratives wrought with themes of control, beauty, and artifice.
