Only a couple days left!

Last month I had the chance to present some of my work and chat with at , thanks to the . I took the opportunity to rewind and revisit a project I started back in college—photographs of people in gas stations at night.
My friend Tom worked the overnight shift at a gas station near campus, and I’d often stop by to visit. The project kind of came together naturally, since it fit my weird school schedule. Most of the images focus on the attendants working late—like Tom—and even Slim, who you’ll see with a winning scratcher ticket.
At the time, I was thinking about how we move through these places—bright, anonymous, open late—and how we rarely slow down to notice the people holding them together.

This week marks 11 years since Mike Brown Jr. was murdered by police in Ferguson, Missouri. His death ignited an uprising that changed St. Louis and the world—forever.
Last year, I photographed the 10-year anniversary for a New York Times assignment. The images were never published, but they’ve stuck with me—quiet, powerful moments full of grief, reflection, strength, and love.
Sharing a few now in honor of Mike, his family, and the community that continues to fight for justice.
Grateful to for bringing me on for this assignment.

It was really fun to run around the Muny and take photos in such a historic space and a place that I’ve visited many times. Cool to see the place with new eyes. Recent work for with reporting by .
I've covered the West Lake Landfill and its impact on the community several times now, photographing Karen, Dawn, (with ) and others fighting for change. This isn’t just a story—it’s a crisis that’s been unfolding for decades. People are still living with the consequences of radioactive waste in their backyard. Their fight continues, and so should our attention.
