Did I mention I started all this from my laundry room?

To this day I run my business and record most of my videos from my laundry room.

That’s the beauty of being your own boss- you do it your way no matter how weird it might be to others.

When you’re 50 you don’t care what other people do as much as you care about enjoying how you do what you do.

No matter how old you are or where you are in your journey- there’s always room to pivot and lean into what makes the most sense to you.

I used to chase the promotions and goals like my self worth depended on them.

But the most rewarding job wasn’t the one with the fancy camera crew and tv studio.

It was the one I built with a cellphone next to a pile of laundry and having to tell my son to turn down the tv in the next room while “I record real fast” 😂

Appreciate you being here ❤️.

Do you share your mistakes?

It’s not comfortable but it not only helps you build trust- it helps you find the meaning in your mistake. The purpose.

I remember how sick I felt when someone called me out in a video for copying their Video a couple years ago.

I almost quit. I almost deleted my account. I almost quit my business. That’s how embarrassed and ashamed I was.

Instead I took the video down and vowed to focus on making original content. And to stop looking at people in my industry for ideas.

Never did I think I’d share what happened.

I thought people would think I’m a fraud.
A hypocrite.

That was over two years ago on another platform.

But that gut wrenching mistake and call out is what helped me go all in on me and figuring out who I am and what makes me different.

By business exploded because of that mistake and that mistake is something I talk about a lot now.

I told on myself and it took away the shame.

I use it to help others find their voice.

When’s the last time you took a break?

I’ve taken a lot of unplanned breaks- those leave me feeling guilty and anxious .

This time I took off on purpose.

I checked in on stories a couple times a week and reposted old content a few times but I went days without ever opening the app.

It was just what my business needed. It was what my brain and mental health were begging for.

If you need permission to schedule a break I’m giving it to you.

If you want to hear the signs you need a break, the different ways to take a break and what I’m doing differently to avoid burnout-

Comment and I’ll send you my podcast episode ❤️
