AEP (Annual Enrollment Period) Mistakes:

1) Answering phone calls from random insurance agents looking to make a dollar not taking your best interest to heart.

2) Answering an ad you see on TV with a celebrity spokesperson could have no idea how medicare works or how to shop plans for you.

3) Trying to understand Medicare by yourself. I eat, breathe, walk, and talk Medicare every day. I am an expert working for you.

4) Listen to your friends. It’s great that your friend loves their plan and it may be the right one for you, but it may not be best for you.

5) Talking to an agent at the grocery store. During AEP, agents will set up booths at locations and will only represent one company. You need someone who has ALL the options.

6) Getting tricked by ads that say they can “give you money back on your SS check”, “give you money back for part B”. Those do exists, but eligibility could be limited.
