Losing someone close to you is one of the most difficult times someone will face. While you are morning the loss you also what to celebrate and remember all the good times. You want a way to capture those moments so you can cherish them forever. At songcastle we take the moments you want to cherish and put them into a custom song so they are never lost.

"Smile" was a song written for a young couple with a love story that was something out of a Hollywood movie. A gentleman named Frankie contacted Songcastle asking if we could help tell his story. He filled out a questionnaire and sent it to us. I got the opportunity to read all about their life together. I learned that they had met in school when they were just kids. That’s where a seed was planted. They grew up together, had mutual friends, attended the same functions, and eventually dated watering that seed each step of the way. Years later, Frankie decided it was time in their journey to take the next step and make a life-time commitment to his sweetheart. He asked for her hand in marriage on a vacation to Cabo at an Oceanside dinner.

I decided that lyrically the song needed to not only explain their story, but also needed to explain how Frankie felt about her. I wanted it to be something that she could listen to on days that marriage isn’t cookie cutter and perfect and still understand the complete picture of where they’ve been and where they are headed.

The song is structured in a way that describes their story start to finish. It starts out as children in elementary school together and continues on to speak on their lives in school. Next, their first date is covered and lastly it speaks on his proposal. Frankie expressed to me that she liked modern pop music. So our team took elements from popular music and used that to create her personal love song. The song played at their wedding and has been a testament to their love together.
