I love them both so much, but I can only choose one!
I really can’t decide! I absolutely love both of these rings and my brain is completely split 50/50 right now. Which one should I choose?

Really happy with my ring
We started designing it together and after we decided the basics, my fiancé took over with the designer. We both liked a lot of art deco designs and I also liked some more organic bands. I’m so happy with where they ended up.

The center stone is 1.78 kt I believe and asscher cut. It’s a lab diamond, something I was insistent on.

Ring size 7.5.

Ring broke in one day
I worked with a local jeweler for a custom engagement ring. I came in with a design in mind and reference photos. It was a 4 month process before the ring was finalized. The ring is a channel setting with 12 baguette diamonds, all lab grown. This is a dream ring for me and was thrilled at how it turned out. A single baguette diamond broke the day after picking up the ring and I stopped wearing it after that. I was not wearing any other rings and it was roughly 8 hours of wear total. The gold itself is now severely beat up and has a hammered look, however only on the side of the ring with the broken baguette. Other 14k jewelry I’ve had for years does not look this worn down. The jeweler is replacing the baguette for free but mentioned it will cost them $1.9k. The total cost of the ring, excluding the center stone, was roughly $6k so this seems high for a single baguette plus labor. They repeatedly asked what activities I did and shared stories of customers who mistakenly and unknowingly damaged their rings. They did not blame me but declined it being a craftsmanship issue and said let’s chalk it up to a faulty diamond. When I picked up the ring I was told to get insurance for loss and theft and their in-store care plan which covers craftsmanship issues. When I brought in the broken ring, they advised me against getting their in-store care plan and said it’s not necessary the ring was made perfectly. It was my first day with the ring so I was especially careful with it. I don’t understand what I possibly could have done to have broken a diamond and damaged a ring this much in less than one day. Is it possible it’s a craftsmanship issue or do I need to be way more careful going forward?
