1221 Photography and I shot a beautiful wedding at Allerton Park and Retreat Center on Saturday. Rob and Anna were not only a fantastic couple but the entire family was beautiful inside and out. It was an experience I won't forget. Also... the family released butterflies after their wedding. Who does that? This artistic family!

One of my absolute favorite things about being a photographer is that I get to meet many types of humans and experience all sorts of amazing and inspiring humans.

Z was no exception. The week before prom, her date cancelled, a friend wasn’t able to accompany her, and she experienced a family emergency. During our shoot, she said: “I just wanted to feel pretty, and wear this big dress. I looked forward to the pictures the most, and I am going to look back on these and remember how awesome I am, and that my prom was still an amazing time.”

I teared up! That is the energy of a young lady who knows that she creates her own reality and she is walking proof of the beauty she created on this day. She did her makeup, styled herself, picked her gown out, and wore the most rockin’ boots I’ve seen! I am grateful I was able to capture some of it.

Lacey’s vision for this shoot was to emphasize her strengths, artistic mind, and her love for cosplay and overcome perceptions put on her by others that she no longer aligned with and really dive into her power and let it SHINE.

I think she nailed it 💁🏼‍♀️
