It’s fall, and I’m on a farm surrounded by a sea of pumpkins—white, yellow, green, bumpy, and smooth. The possibilities are endless! I’m thinking about carving them for Halloween decorations, drying the seeds for a snack, making homemade pumpkin pies, and even cooking and canning pumpkins like sweet potatoes. With so many varieties and flavors, there’s no limit to what you can create from these autumn

While visiting a vegetable stand, I couldn’t resist capturing the American flag flying proudly against the backdrop of a working farm. To me, it’s the ultimate symbol of patriotism—people surviving off the fruits of their own labor. You can see the barn, bins overflowing with fresh produce, pumpkins scattered outside, the hot house, and the cash register—a perfect snapshot of American capitalism in action. How much more patriotic can you get?

I found these vibrant squashes and gourds on a farm outside Springfield, Ohio. Something told me to stop, and luckily, I had my Nikon Z8 with me. The bin was brimming with brilliant colors—green, orange, and yellow—bursting with life. While the gourds aren't for eating, their beauty is undeniable, and once dried, they make perfect additions to DIY projects.
