Hello Gentleman,
My name is Kevin A. Warren or more commonly know as "Big Bear" or my Muslim name Abdul Rahim. I am currently located at Jefferson City Correctional Center, I am 51 year's old and I have been incarcerated in the Missouri Department of Corrections since February 1995, at the time I entered MO. D.O.C. I was 21 year's old, at the time of my initial incarceration I was 19 year's old at the time I had committed my crime of 4 count's of 1st Degree Murder, I accepted responsibility for my action's and I knew that I would have to pay a heavy price for my crime's as well as the people life's I had changed with heinous action's, I was given a sentence of 4 Life Without Parole to be served concurrent and 4 Life With Parole for Armed Criminal Action's to be serve concurrently also but the 2 sentence's are consecutive to each other, so I have 1 Life Without Parole and 1 Life With Parole. As I said I took responsibility for my action's, and I have spent the 29 plus year's (31 including county jail time) attempting to change my life, not because I had vision's of a parole hearing or parole date, before entering the Department of Correction's I had made peace that my sentence would guarantee I would spend the last days of my life inside of a prison cell. That was how I thought and felt at the age of 19-22, but at the age 51 I believe that I am not the same person I was at the age of 19, I have dedicated my life to teaching other inmate's how our action's have made victim's of people and how we have not only took innocent people choice's but also changed their lives forever, I know our action's can never be undone but we can grow from the young boy's we were at the time of our incarceration to become men who can be responsible, productive men that have the ability to return to the very same communities we help destroy, help to heal and rebuild these very same communities, we have the ability to return to society to make amends to those we know and didn't know we harmed with our action's, to have the ability to give back and help lift up those you have pulled down or destroyed is a priceless gift I am eager to give to all of humanity. I don't believe my life nor what I have to offer as a man and human being is worthless and just as I have spent most of my life as a servant to helping other's grow from our wrong doings to show them that there is other path's that doesn't involve hurting or harming other's, I would be just as much if not more in society.
