Let's talk cabin air filters, or as I like to call them, the forgotten service item. This vehicle is an extreme case. Not sure when it was changed last and the vehicles primary use is for dog hauling. 1st picture is a side by side, the following 2 are of the case where the filter sits and the extra build up. These filters help with the quality of air you breathe and are relatively inexpensive. In most cases the filters themselves cost around $30 and take around 5-10 minutes to install, odd ball ones taking slightly longer. A change every year should be fine for most vehicles, make sure to add this to your service checklist when doing your vehicles maintenance.

Been busy since the last post. Audi 2.0 timing wrapped up (1st set if pictures, failed tensioner, ended up doing all 3 chains) then 2JZ-GE timing and oil leaks finished (2nd set of pictures, new seals, new timing, new pulleys) Plenty of other vehicles have rolled through for various fixes as well. Will get better on documentation throughout the journey.

Customer brought in this 2006 Kia Sorento for valve covers as they were dripping onto the manifold causing it to smoke and smell like burnt oil all the time. Found a few tube seals had also failed, all the gaskets for this repair we hard as a rock. During the removal of the valve covers noticed the timing belt was severely cracked. Turned out to be OE and this car had 170k on it. Customer decided to move ahead with timing belt and water pump replacement. The front covers were so brittle they broke upon removal and I decided to replace them for the customer for free.

Shop friends RUSSO & CO. needed a quick repair on their mobile stage rig before heading out of town this past summer. They brought in a radiator and electric fan kit that needed wired up. After finding the fan mounts broken from shipping, we got some custom ones made, wired up the fan, fixed some wires we found along the way, and got it back to them in time for their trip. For those of you who have never heard these guys play, check them out!
