I had a great time at the SPARC match, the Marksman Challenge! This was the very first long-range style match I’ve ever done, and really the first long-range shooting I’ve ever done. 77th overall of 136 shooters! The average target distance was 400 yards, and unfortunately I didn’t get any video of my best stages! Spending time earlier to get ballistic data on my rounds, combined with my gun info, helped me make DOPE cards to assist me on each stage. These helped me tremendously, as this was also the first time I’ve ever actively dialed my scope under any kind of pressure to numerous new zeroes in order to engage the challenging targets. I timed out on 7 of the 12 stages, with only serious issues on the first and last stage (first stage my turret was dialed way too high on accident, last stage I mixed up my two zeroes and used them for the wrong targets). Other than that, my Squad was a blast, shooting with some family and new and old friends. The stages were challenging. The day had mostly good weather! Overall, I’m going to be focusing on these matches next year to beef up a part of my shooting skills that needs more attention! Thank you for the gear and advice, as well as being the primary sponsor! Thank you to all of the other sponsors as well, especially for the scope certificate!

Video 1: Stage 8, first three target impacts at 494 yards, last two at 240 yards.

Video 2: Stage 1, 4 targets at 120, 382, 475 and 820 yards! I couldn’t make it to the 820 yard target, it was a challenging stage!

Video 3: Stage 2, two target impacts from each position were needed, first target at 364 yards and the second one at 484 yards.

Video 4: Stage 3, two targets at the left and right, 423 yds and 349 yds respectively. We were only allowed 8 shots, hit or miss you move on each time. I mixed up my zeroes and was shooting too high for one and too low for another. Bummer! But it was the last stage and I was very tired, it was a 12 hour shooting day! .gunner hoodie kept me warm in the wee morning hours, protected from the sun when it was out, and warm again when a rainstorm came down all of a sudden!

Hiked to some hot springs in Diamond Fork canyon, took a .gunner hoodie with me. It looks pretty sweet in the Utah canyons. Love our public land to be able to do this whenever I want to.

Thank you!! And everyone else get yourself one!
