I’ve been thinking about this a lot since I first heard this advice. First - I believe when someone reveals their brokenness to you, that is not always a bad thing like some may perceive this to be. Vulnerability can be a beautiful thing if done in a harmless way. They trust you enough to show their weakness, their hurt, their pain. We are all human and we ALL struggle - some people just haven’t learned to cope in a healthy manner yet. And that’s okay. That’s all a part of the human experience. Second, it is not your fault. You may have said things that upset them but how they chose to react is not your fault. You may have been nothing but loving and supportive - and it is STILL not your fault. You didn’t fail them. They just haven’t learned of their full potential yet. Today I am sending love to the fixers, the empaths and the lovers. We feel this pain deeper than others.
