This spring, Encompass Connection Center had the privilege of being invited by Manny Moreno, one of the campus ministers at , to speak to a service ministry-oriented class during the school’s special “E-Term.”

E-Term gives students the opportunity to participate in enrichment classes outside the normal school day. Twelve students signed up for this particular class, where they learned more about leadership, communication, service, and nonprofits in Clark County.

Theresa Mabry visited the class to share how Encompass is making an impact in our community. Along with providing brochures and information about Encompass, she also led a conversation about stress and conflict.
Most of us have one or two “go-to” styles for responding to stress. At Encompass, we use “stress animals” to help people identify those patterns in a memorable and practical way. Theresa helped the students discover their own stress animal and understand how unmanaged stress responses can affect relationships. Each student also went home with their own stress animal stress ball.
The students asked thoughtful questions about Encompass and the work we do in Clark County. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with local students, share our mission, and encourage the next generation to think about how healthy relationships can impact our community

Ronda and I are approaching our 48th wedding anniversary at the end of 2026. While
that hardly seems possible, what DOES reflect reality are the hundreds of
communication mistakes we've made in almost five decades of marriage! You'll be
seeing the top 7 as well as practical ways to turn each around.
Even couples with deep love (Ronda and I DO love each other deeply) can drift into
misunderstanding, resentment, or silence. Yet many communication problems aren’t
signs of incompatibility; they’re common habits that can be unlearned. We hope you
can learn from our mistakes!
