Each Memorial Day, we honor those who have given their lives while serving in our nation’s armed forces. Across the country, many people observe the holiday with moments of silence and graveside services. But amid the solemnity, we need to remember not how these brave Americans died but how they lived – their dedication, courage and commitment to service.
