From Cape Town to Cairo, from Dakar to the Horn of Africa, Africa's Hope partners with over 400 Bible schools and extension training sites across the continent — equipping more than 27,000 students in the languages they speak and the communities they call home to disciple the nations in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Africa's Hope is a ministry of AGWM Africa with the mission that proclaims: Spirit-empowered, biblically trained leaders are the hope of Africa.

From a clear calling in 1996 to a national church planting movement and leadership development—Pastor Jérôme Ndayisaba’s story is one of obedience, vision, and lasting impact.

In 2008, Pastor Jérôme planted a church in Gitega, Burundi—an area heavily influenced by Islam and Catholicism. By God’s grace, nearly 30% of his congregation has come from Muslim backgrounds, a powerful testimony to the transforming work of the gospel.

In 2013, he sensed the Holy Spirit leading him to train others for ministry. By 2015, the church had grown to about 1,500 members. Then in 2016, he began planting additional churches. To date, 14 churches have been planted, with two more on the way.

That same year, Pastor Jérôme was elected General Superintendent of the Burundi Assemblies of God Fellowship. While serving in this role, he received a scholarship subsidy through Africa’s Hope and completed his Master’s degree at WAAST—equipping him to lead and teach with even greater effectiveness in a nation facing widespread false teaching.

With a renewed burden for holistic ministry, Pastor Jérôme shares: “The people of Burundi have been traumatized by political unrest and crisis. Many carry deep wounds from the loss of loved ones during the Tutsi-Hutu conflict. They need healing. So I preach the gospel and minister to their points of need.”

Today, Africa’s Hope is actively translating the Discovery Series Bible school curriculum into Kirundi—the heart language of nearly all Burundians—so more leaders can be trained and more lives transformed.

Pastor Jérôme extends heartfelt thanks to the many partners making this possible. Together, we are raising up leaders, planting churches, and bringing hope and healing to Burundi.
