The community has spoken, and we're here to amplify your voices. Springfield wants more art! "This Place We Make" is the 10-year comprehensive Cultural Plan for Springfield. Developed through extensive community engagement in 2025, this plan reflects the voices of community members who participated in surveys and focus groups, sharing their vision for a region where arts and culture thrive, where creative talent chooses to stay and grow, and where cultural vitality drives both quality of life and economic opportunity. Join Slow Viewing at the Creamery for their first gathering of the season! Slow Viewing is a supportive practice for anyone who wants to develop their skills of interpretation, observation, and discussing art. Guests spend an hour carefully observing and speaking about the works on view, resulting in a deeper understanding of how they and others relate to the artwork and to each other. They'll be starting with our Best of Missouri Hands exhibition at the Creamery.

Slow Viewing was created in partnership with the Springfield Art Museum. It is free and open to the public, but you do need to register for the event!
