Final finish coat has been applied and all is complete on "Ballet Slipper". She is now for sale and on display at Relic's Antique Mall along with the solid Walnut bed (headboard, footboard and side boards). I'm going to post a few photos of my concrete "Greenman". This hand cast concrete plaque depicts the legendary English/Irish symbol of nature, The Green Man. The rugged/distressed concrete finish has various antiqued patinas (for an "aged" look). He is suitable for outdoor use or indoors as wall art and includes a built-in bracket for easy hanging in any home or garden. the Green Man is most often seen incorporated as a carved decorative ornamentation on European churches and other buildings, dating from before the 11th century. Roman architecture sometimes features ornate leaf masks, which are usually taken as showing the close interdependence between man and nature, These leaf faced representations celebrate the majesty of the tree and plant life. Personally, I hang them all over my yard in anticipation of the glory of Spring. They are on my deck, hanging on trees, and on the walls of my porch. Where would you hang a Green Man ?
